CARO Awards: Webinar presents best onshore field regulation initiatives

On May 13, FGV Energy will hold an online awards ceremony for the Adequately Regulated Fields (known by Portuguese acronym CARO) Awards, which are focused on simplification and streamlining of regulations governing onshore oil and gas operations. The work of six finalists, including three winners, will be presented during the event, to be broadcast live at 5 pm on FGV’s YouTube channel.

Various entries were submitted to the awards by students, professionals, researchers and scholars interested in sharing ideas to contribute to the formulation of an appropriate regulatory framework for onshore oil and gas fields, with the goal of finding efficient solutions for the energy sector. During the online event, the six finalists will present their work, which they did as part of a project lasting eight months. Three of them will be winners and they will be able to offer the country a new regulatory agenda suited to the onshore environment.

The event will also include a tribute to Newton Monteiro, an outstanding oil industry professional, who will be presented with a plaque recognizing the many years in which he has served and shared information with the industry.
