Climate crisis and sustainable development in Amazon are themes of webinar
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) is holding a free webinar about the climate crisis and sustainable development in the Amazon. This public event will take place on October 5, at 6 p.m., on FGV’s YouTube channel.
Strengthening the Brazilian climate action depends fundamentally on the Amazon. However, as well as playing a central role in tackling the climate crisis, this region faces major obstacles to its growth trajectory.
The webinar will address some of the main challenges and opportunities involved in reconciling these two high-priority areas of activity for the Amazon, focusing on critical aspects to drive a process of sustainable and fair socioeconomic development.
The event will be moderated by Professor Amanda Schutze of FGV EESP. The speakers will be Clarissa Gandour, a professor at FGV EESP; and Natalie Unterstell, the president of the Talanoa Institute.
