The event was attended by the director of IIU, professor Renato Flôres, the Project Coordinator, Ruderico Pimentel, the Unit Consultants who participated in its development, Regis Arslanian and Antonio Menezes, in addition to authorities and experts on the subject, such as Ambassadors João Genésio Filho and João Carlos de Castro, the former Presidents of Eletrobrás, Altino Ventura Filho and Luiz Pinguelli Rosa, the Director of the Uruguayan UTE, Jorge Cabrera Lestegás, and the representative of the Ministerio de Energía y Minería of Argentina, Juan Legisa.
Participants came together to address the final report of the project, discussing possible lines of action and proposals that could help the Brazilian government and Mercosur outline a joint regional perspective on the energy industry, based on the area’s bottlenecks and opportunities.
The ultimate goal is to build a strategic vision, effectively based on regional institutional mechanisms currently available, in order to help plan and coordinate energy policies in South America.
