FGV Energy announces new sponsor

Norte Energia has joined FGV Energy’s group of sponsors. It holds the concession to Belo Monte, located on the Xingu River near the city of Altamira, Pará. It is the largest hydroelectric plant in Brazil and the fourth largest in the world.

“After 10 years of making dreams come true and overcoming challenges, materialized in the Belo Monte hydroelectric plant, Norte Energia has become one of FGV Energy’s sponsors. This reflects our company’s commitment to Brazil’s sustainable development, innovation and applied research, especially in the power sector in the country’s northern region,” said the CEO of Norte Energia, Paulo Roberto Ribeiro Pinto.

FGV Energy’s sponsors are companies that support the energy sector’s sustainable development and the generation of applied knowledge, by contributing resources (financial or otherwise) in its research areas. In exchange, they receive the benefits resulting from this research, supporting their strategic investment decision making.

As well as Norte Energia, FGV Energy’s sponsors are Accenture, Cepel, Eletronuclear, Enel, Equinor, Furnas, Itaipu, Ipiranga and PetroRio.
