FGV's President speaks to more than a thousand Argentine leaders during CIPPEC's annual event

FGV's President, Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, was the main speaker at CIPPEC's annual dinner, Centro de Implementación de Políticas Públicas para la Equidad y el Crecimiento, considered as the main think tank of Argentina.The event, that took place in Buenos Aires on last April 16th, gathered more than a thousand political actors, social leaders, businessmen, diplomats, academics and journalists, among which were the Governors of the provinces of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Salta, Argentina's Minister of Science and Technology Lino Barañao, 60 senators and deputies of different political parties, as well as 25 intendants of the main metropolitan regions of Argentina. Mrs. Simonsen Leal and the Brazilian Ambassador in Buenos Aires, Enio Cordeiro, also attended the dinner.After 12 years since its establishment, this was the first time a foreign guest speaks during the celebration of CIPPEC's anniversary. In his speech, FGV's President highlighted that ?the think tanks' field of action is very diligent. Their main objective is to identify the relevant topics of public policies, and from observed facts to propose lines of action that improve the effectiveness of such policies as a group?. ?There is no rule to classify all think tanks, except the one stating that their motivation is the res publica treaty?, remarked Simonsen Leal.During the dinner, the President of CIPPEC's Administrative Council, Enrique Valiente Noailles, and the institution's Executive Director, Fernando Straface, introduced the first e-book on public policies made in Argentina, comprised of 100 public policy proposals to stimulate the social, economic, institutional and public management development of the country.On behalf of FGV, besides its President, the International Director, Bianor Cavalcanti, the Vice-Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Marlos Lima, and the International Assistant Fabiana Mayrinck also attended the event.
