FGV's publisher launches the first eBooks in ePub format

FGV's publisher has just launched its eBooks in ePub format. The prices of the new digital books will be up to 30% lower than printed versions, thus making it a more economical, practical and sustainable option. The publisher's catalog has been including PDF books for over three years; the new ePub format, however, is more modern, interactive and largely used all over the world. The titles are already on sale at the publisher's website (www.fgv.br/editora) and at the AppleStore. The purpose is to make 100 ePub format books available in six months; and to have the entire catalog in digital format in two years.?The digital book is particularly useful for the academic market: undergraduate, MBA, master's and doctorate students are able to carry an entire library in their hands and study anywhere?, remarks sales manager Marcelo Pontes. Furthermore, the possibilities of disseminating works are significantly expanded. Anywhere in Brazil and abroad, books reach the consumer instantly, without freight cost and time. ?In areas like International Relations, for example, such advantages are very important. In Europe and the United States, there are several study centers on Brazil, eager for publications that help to understand our reality and the ways the country can take from this moment forward?, reminds Marcelo.Being always concerned to protect the author's rights and interests, Editora FGV publisher has procured the Adobe Content Server. The software generates a protection key (DRM - Digital Rights Management), avoiding illegal copies and the undue use of digital works.
