German foreign minister debates digitalization challenges for democracies in Sao Paulo
The event, called “Democracy and Digitalization: Challenges of the Digital Age,” is supported by the German Embassy and European Union Delegation in Brazil.

Germany’s foreign minister, Annalena Baerbock, will speak about digitalization challenges for democratic societies at an event held by Fundação Getulio Vargas’ School of Communication, Media and Information (FGV ECMI) and the FGV Sao Paulo Law School. This public event will take place on June 6, at 9 am, in the FGV Auditorium in Sao Paulo.
The event, called “Democracy and Digitalization: Challenges of the Digital Age,” is supported by the German Embassy and European Union Delegation in Brazil. The international guest speakers will include Hubertus Heil, Germany’s minister for work and social affairs; and Ignacio Ybáñez, the European Union’s ambassador to Brazil.
Other speakers include Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, the president of FGV; Margrethe Vestager, the European Commission’s executive vice president; and Michael Meyer-Resende, the director of Democracy Reporting International.
