Government and society to reflect on pathways for the oil and electricity industries at FGV

On November 8, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., FGV Energy and AmCham Rio will hold the 8th Seminar on the Brazilian Array and Energy Security and the 14th Brazil Energy and Power at FGV’s Cultural Center (Praia de Botafogo, 186. Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro/RJ), gathering important interlocutors from the current national energy scenario for lectures and discussions.

During the event, government and society players will reflect on the pathways for the oil and electricity industries, in light of attracting investments to create jobs and income. Given the importance of the subject for Brazilian society, the event aims to discuss a political agenda for the country which takes effective measures to keep the population away from the risks and instability of access to energy sources.

The topics that the seminar will address include the “The Role of Natural Gas in the Brazilian Energy Array”, “Business Opportunities in the Natural Gas Industry in Brazil”, “Downstream – Pricing Policy”, “Competitiveness in Refining and Socioeconomic Impacts”, “Revision of the Rules of Integration of Distributed Generation in 2019”, “Opportunities and Challenges for the Development of the Smart Grid in Brazil” and “Revision of the Procurement Model (power ballast, regional auctions and others)”.

This year’s lecturers include Adriano Pires (Brazilian Center for Infrastructure – CBIE), Francisco José Arteiro (National System Operator – ONS), José Mauro Ferreira (Energy Research Office – EPE), Eduardo Antonello (Golar), Bernardo Perseke (Gás Natural Açu – GNA), Leonardo Gadotti (Plural), Jorge Celestino Ramos (Petrobras), Fernando Henrique Schuffner (Cemig), Luiz Eduardo Barata (ONS), André Pepitone (Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency – Aneel), Alessio Tizzanini (Enel), Reive Barros dos Santos (EPE) and Roberto Castro (Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization – CCEE).
