GranBio President invited to speak about cellulosic ethanol

On September 28, at 6 p.m., FGV Energy will host a lecture with Bernardo Gradin, president of GranBio, during another edition of the series of lectures titled “Energy in Focus – Strategies and Challenges for the Future,” under the theme “The Reality of Cellulosic Ethanol – A Brazilian Case of Innovation”. During the meeting, Bernardo Gradin will share his vision for the energy area based on market experiences.

Bernardo Gradin is a civil engineer graduated from Escola Politécnica of Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), and also holds an MBA from Wharton School of Business and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He worked for the Odebrecht group until 2010, when he was president of Braskem. Gradin founded Granbio in 2011, which is a company dedicated to manufacturing second-generation biofuels and biochemicals. In addition, he is also an entrepreneur in the fields of Industrial Biotechnology, Oil & Gas, and Logistics, and also a member of the Board of Directors of Abiquim, MEI-CNI, CNPEM, and WEF’s Community of Chemicals and Materials.

FGV Energy has been hosting the series of lectures Energy in Focus since 2014, featuring senior management professionals from the energy industry. The goal is to discuss the political, economic, and technological challenges for the industry’s development in Brazil.
