Metaverse: Experimental cases, applications and insights are focus of online event
This public event will take place on April 11, at 2 pm, livestreamed on Zoom and FGV’s YouTube channel.

Those entering the realm of the metaverse frequently ask themselves whether they have already entered a metaverse environment, and what such spaces are like. To broaden discussion in this area, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ School of Communication, Media and Information (FGV ECMI) is holding a webinar called “Experimental Cases and Applications in the Metaverse.” This public event will take place on April 11, at 2 pm, livestreamed on Zoom and FGV’s YouTube channel.
In this context, we can draw attention to online video games such as MMORPGs and Fortnite. If you have had the opportunity to try them out, you may already have an idea of how immersive environments work. Regarding the metaverse, many different applications are possible, such as interior design, concerts, meetings with friends, health care, education and political campaigns, to mention just a few. The aim of the webinar is to discuss and delve into some of the metaverse’s possible applications, including remote work and fashion.
The speakers will be Mariana Amaro, communication coordinator at Nuuvem; Olívia Merquior, CEO of Iara Land and creator of Brazil Immersive Fashion Week; Mohammad Zia, manager of public policy campaigns and programs at Meta; and Luis Gomes, innovation coordinator at FGV ECMI.
