Natural gas industry outlook in Brazil discussed at international event
Great transformations are expected with the change to the industry’s legal framework and the long-awaited entry of new agents.

Expectations for Brazil’s natural gas (LNG) industry are high. Great transformations are expected with the change to the industry’s legal framework and the long-awaited entry of new agents. In addition, a new LNG terminal (Barra dos Coqueiros – SE) is expected by 2020, which will boost import capacity and provide operational flexibility to the national thermal power demand. It has become urgent to discuss the industry in Brazil with the expectation of economic growth and transition of the energy matrix to a less polluting model, such as natural gas.
In order to promote discussion and analyze the possibilities for the Brazilian market, FGV Energy and the U.S. Government in Brazil launch the First US-Americas LNG Forum. The seminar will be held in the auditorium of FGV’s main office in Rio de Janeiro (Praia de Botafogo, 190. 12th floor. Rio de Janeiro/RJ), on May 23, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The idea is to engage experts and industry players in an unbiased and transparent debate to address prices, offer projections, demand and future projects.
In addition to the technical discussions proposed by FGV Energy, the event will be attended by representatives of IHS Energy, Empresa de Pesquisa Energética (EPE), EIG Global Energy, Golden Pass LNG, and Cheniere Energy, among others.
