Online event debates photovoltaic power generation
Solar photovoltaic technology has proven a success in recent auctions and in contracts in the unregulated market, as costs have fallen over the last decade

On March 22, at 6 pm, FGV Energy will hold a webinar called “Photovoltaic power generation: the new frontier for renewables in Brazil.” Solar photovoltaic technology has proven a success in recent auctions and in contracts in the unregulated market, as costs have fallen over the last decade. Major environmental, social and environmental externalities reinforce opportunities to accelerate the development of the supply chain in Brazil. However, the goal of doubling solar power’s share of electricity generation in the space of a decade poses big challenges for planners, entrepreneurs and the market.
The following speakers will debate key challenges for the growth of photovoltaic power generation: Eduardo Tobias, a professor on FGV’s MBA courses and director of Watt Capital; Erik Rego, the director of electricity studies at EPE; Jean Bellavia, Enel’s business development director; and Rodrigo Sauaia, the president of Absolar. The webinar will be open to the public and moderated by FGV Energy’s education and R&D superintendent, Felipe Gonçalves.
