Online event explores labor reform’s challenges and prospects
The speakers will discuss challenges involved in applying the Consolidated Labor Laws to the everyday activities of employers and workers.

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) is holding a free webinar on “Labor Reform’s Challenges and Prospects,” to discuss planned changes to Brazil’s Consolidated Labor Laws, on April 19, at 9 am, on FGV’s YouTube channel.
The speakers will include Justice Ives Gandra da Silva Martins Filho of the Superior Labor Court, Judge Rodrigo Dias Fonseca of the Regional Labor Court of Goiás, Judge Otavio Calvet of the Regional Labor Court of Rio de Janeiro, Professor André Portela of FGV EESP, Professor José Marcio Camargo of Rio de Janeiro Catholic University, and Professor Fernando Holanda Barbosa Filho of FGV IBRE. The moderators will be Professor André Portela of FGV EESP and FGV EESP Clear, and Professor José Pastore of the University of Sao Paulo’s School of Economics and Administration. The opening and closing remarks will be made by Lilian Furquim, the vice dean of FGV EESP.
The speakers will discuss challenges involved in applying the Consolidated Labor Laws to the everyday activities of employers and workers, as well as prospects for labor relations and economic growth. The event is supported by the National Confederation of Industry, the National Confederation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism, and the Sao Paulo Trade Federation.
