Shell vice president discusses Brazil’s role in energy transition in webinar
The aim is to discuss what paths the country ought to take to make the most of the fact that it has one of the world’s lowest-carbon energy systems.
On August 23, 2021, at 6 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel, FGV Energy will hold a webinar called Energy in Focus: The Energy Transition in Brazil. Where, Why, When and How? The aim is to discuss what paths the country ought to take to make the most of the fact that it has one of the world’s lowest-carbon energy systems.
The event will feature Shell vice president Flávio Rodrigues, Professor Horta Nogueira of Itajubá Federal University and the director of the Wilson Center, Paulo Sotero, to debate the energy transition in Brazil. The moderator will be Fernanda Delgado, a professor and strategic advisor at FGV Energy.
Although Brazil has the least-polluting energy system on the planet, achieving the goal of decarbonization will involve combining public policies and economic and technological solutions. During the meeting, the experts will address Brazil’s present context, such as its influence on climate summits and COP26, and oil companies’ role in the energy transition process, among other issues.
