Webinar debates expectations regarding COP 28 in oil and gas sector
The meeting will discuss expectations regarding the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28), focusing on the energy sector.

FGV Energy is holding the sixth webinar in its “Energy in Focus” series on the oil and gas sector, called “The Energy Transition: Pathways to COP 28.” This public event will be livestreamed on FGV’s YouTube channel on October 23, at 6 p.m. The meeting will discuss expectations regarding the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28), focusing on the energy sector.
The event will also discuss how Brazil can contribute to accelerating the low-carbon economy, such as through recent initiatives like the Ecological Transformation Plan, the Fuel for the Future Bill, carbon market regulation, the licensing of offshore wind projects, and a revamp of the National Hydrogen Program.
The speakers will be Heloísa Borges, oil, gas and biofuel research director at the Brazilian government’s Energy Research Company (EPE); Roberta Cox, policy director in Brazil at GWEC; Viviana Coelho, executive manager for climate change at Petrobras; and David Zylbersztajn, a professor and former director of the National Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP). The moderators will be FGV Energy’s research superintendent, Marcio Couto; and FGV Energy researcher João Victor Marques Cardoso.
