FGV In Company, in partnership with the Brazilian Energy Recovery Association (ABREN), is holding a webinar to launch the second edition of its Executive MBA in Administration: Energy Recovery and Waste Treatment. This public event will be livestreamed on FGV’s YouTube channel on July 25, at 6 pm.
The speakers will discuss some of the topics that will be explored in the MBA, including best practices for integrated and sustainable management of solid waste through recycling, composting and energy recovery.
Brazil’s new sanitation regulatory framework provided the market with a great opportunity by forcing all municipal governments in Brazil to structure concessions to handle public waste management services. As a result, there will be a boom in investments in advanced technologies to recycle and treat waste, amounting to a projected R$150 billion, in the coming years.
The speakers will be Yuri Schmitke, executive president of ABREN and vice president of the Latin American chapter of the Global WtERT Council; and Gesner Oliveira, coordinator of the Center for Studies on Infrastructure and Environmental Solutions (FGVceisa) at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP). The moderator will be João Lins, the executive director of FGV In Company.
