Webinar talks about biodiversity management’s context and trends

FGV Executive Education is holding a free online event on the context and trends involving biodiversity management and its integration with the climate agenda in companies. This public event will take place on April 13 at 2 pm and it will be livestreamed on FGV’s YouTube channel. The webinar will kick off the 2023 cycle of “Business Initiatives,” a program conducted by Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Center for Sustainability Studies (FGVces).

The idea is to have an initial conversation to explore how climate change and loss of biodiversity are interconnected and to look at social movements and business actions that are coordinated and integrated into companies’ strategies.

For the last 12 years, FGVces’ Business Initiatives events have brought together organizations in different sectors interested in producing and exchanging knowledge and experiences regarding advances and challenges of business management for sustainability. In 2023, the theme chosen for further study is the integration of climate and biodiversity business strategies.

The event’s speakers will be Annelise Vendramini, the coordinator of the Sustainable Finance Research Program at FGVces; and Fabio Scarano, a forest engineer, professor of ecology at Rio de Janeiro Federal University, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change author and coordinator of a chapter of a report produced by the Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. The moderator will be Guarany Osório, the coordinator of FGVces’ Environmental Policy and Economics Program.
