Week of lectures gives overview of digital communication

In an Integration Week full of activities, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ School of Communication, Media and Information (FGV ECMI) will be holding events such as a seminar to kick off its partnership with media company Globo, as well as lectures by representatives of TikTok and FSB Comunicação, among other speakers. The program of activities will run from February 5 to 8.

An event titled “Globo at FGV ECMI: Communication Challenges in the Digital Age,” the only one open to the public, will take place on Thursday, February 8, at 11 a.m. Marcelo Cosme, a journalist and presenter of Globonews’ daily news program “Em Pauta,” will be one of the participants. He will be joined on the panel by Eliseu Barreira, head of portfolio management for digital products and paid channels at Globo, and Thaisa Coelho, head of digital news products at Globo. The moderator will be Professor Felipe Sauerbronn. The opening remarks will be given by FGV ECMI’s vice dean, Ana Guedes.

Gustavo Rodrigues, public policy manager at Tik Tok Brasil, will give a talk to the students about the platform’s prospects and challenges in 2024. FSB Comunicação, represented by digital strategy director Daniela Pereira and digital strategist Dominique Thomaz, will talk about “How to Use Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Communication Tools.” Marco Ruediger, FGV ECMI’s dean, will give the opening lecture of the week, on digital communication.

The Integration Week is designed to introduce students to the area of digital communication and the school’s undergraduate degree program. It also includes presentations by the coordinators, teaching staff, FGV’s support units, student organizations and other members of the FGV ECMI team.
