EBAPE students are selected for international consultancy program
The students of the Mestrado Executivo em Gestão Empresarial (Executive Master in Business Administration - MEX) of the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE) Claudia Baumgratz, Mauricio Sidi Algamis and Otavio Serra were selected to be part of the International MBA Practicum - an international program by Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), from Atlanta (USA), focused on the development of on-site consulting in organizations.
Each graduate student is placed in one of four project teams, which includes the participation of the companies Brightlights, Marriott, Connect Consulting and SITA. The plan is to improve time management skills, apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to real business challenges in an international environment and work with different cultures to develop consulting skills.
The goal of the program is to encourage participants to consider issues related to global management and provide the opportunity to work on a 'real world' project, with a dimension that goes beyond the borders of Brazil and the United States, explained the professor of Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business and coordinator of the program, Joy Rogers.
The lectures in Atlanta are recorded and the students work as a unified global team. The communication is weekly, done through teleconferences with the team and clients, via Skype. In Rio, there will be a week dedicated to visits in organizations and meetings with clients based in the city, which will take place on March 16-22. At the end of the course, a final report will be sent to the companies visited.
