FGV and Brazilian Army launch cybersecurity manual during Cyber Guardian Drill 6.0
Publication aims to provide guidance on how organizations can prepare for and participate in digital defense exercises, integrating society and critical infrastructure

During the Cyber Guardian Drill 6.0, held between October 14 and 18, Fundação Getulio Vargas and the Brazilian Army released a cybersecurity exercise guidance manual. Written in accessible language, the guide aims to help companies and other organizations understand and implement cybersecurity drills, especially those that have little information but are interested in carrying out their own exercises.
“The idea was to create a manual in simple language, allowing all stakeholders to understand what a cybersecurity exercise entails,” says Sérgio Gustavo Costa, executive manager at FGV’s technical consulting arm, FGV Projetos.
The Cyber Guardian Drill is the largest exercise of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, bringing together cyber defense agencies and companies to test their capacity to respond to simulated attacks. The goal is to strengthen the security of critical national infrastructure, promoting the exchange of knowledge between experts and professionals in the sector. This year’s edition featured practical simulations ranging from war games to defense challenges in virtual environments, creating a space for the development of new digital protection techniques.
