FGV hosts 14th continuous optimization mathematics workshop
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ School of Applied Mathematics (FGV EMAp) is hosting the 14th Brazilian Workshop on Continuous Optimization, bringing together speakers from the world’s most renowned teaching and research institutions in the field of mathematics. This public event will take place between March 4 and 9, starting at 8 a.m., at the FGV Cultural Center in Rio de Janeiro.
The speakers will be Professor Ernesto Birgin of the University of Sao Paulo, Professor Geovani Grapiglia of Louvain Catholic University, Professor Roland Herzog of Heidelberg University, Professor Michel de Lara of the National School of Bridges and Highways in Paris, and Professor Asuman Özdaglar of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The topics to be covered include theoretical, computational and implementation issues in both linear and non-linear programming, including variational inequalities, complementarity problems, non-smooth optimization, vector optimization, generalized equations and stochastic optimization, among other subjects.
