Talent Selection Meeting reaches 10th edition with special program in Paraná
An event that encourages the study of mathematics and science among young talents from public schools will take place from March 19 to 22 in Foz do Iguaçu (PR).
The 10th edition of the "Talent Selection Meeting" of the Fundação Getulio Vargas Center for the Development of Mathematics and Science (FGV CDMC) will take place from March 19 to 22, 2025, in Foz do Iguaçu (PR). For this commemorative edition, 55 students from public schools in Paraná and 5 from Minas Gerais, selected for their academic performance, will take part in an immersion in mathematics and science. For four days, they will gather at the Eco Cataratas Resort, where they will take part in interactive workshops, mini-courses, gymkhanas with oral and practical presentations, lectures and themed tables. The programme also includes the "MatematicATIVA" exhibition, organized by the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR).
Created in 2022, the Talent Selection Meeting was created to promote the study of mathematics and strengthen FGV's connection with high-achieving students.
This year's faculty includes professors from FGV Rio and local partner institutions, including UFPR, Londrina State University (UEL), Ponta Grossa State University (UEPG), Western Paraná State University (Unioeste) and the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR). To mark this 10th edition, representatives of institutions that have contributed to previous editions will also be present, such as the Federal Center for Technological Education of Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG), the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and the Espírito Santo Department of Education (SEDU).
