FGV Online, CIES and FIFA ended the second class of the Management, Marketing and Sports Law course
FGV Online, FIFA and the International Center for Sports Studies (CIES) offered, on November 8th -9th, the closing of the second class of the course Management, Marketing and Sports Law - a partnership among the three institutions whose first class was launched in 2012. The second edition of the program trained more than 30 executives, former athletes and leaders for the professional management of the sport. The closing event took place at FGV's unit in Candelária, center of Rio de Janeiro, and was attended by students and representatives of FGV and CIES.
In total, 13 groups presented course papers, including case studies on successful models for sports management, marketing, finance and sustainability in the sport. The winning work - which will compete with other works of CIES' network for an opportunity to be presented to FIFA in Switzerland - was Feasibility study for the creation of a mediation company for sports sponsorships in the Brazilian market, by the students Ivan Boiça and Vicente Sfeir, oriented by Professor Bianca Bozon.
The closing table included the Director of Rede Management, Mario Pinto, CIES' academic director, Francisco Rubio Sánchez, the coordinator of the course, Pedro Trengrouse, and the product coordinator of FGV Online, Lorena Breda. The representatives of the institutions congratulated the students and talked about the relevance of the program for developing sports managers' skills, highlighting the originality of the subjects chosen, the correct defense of the raised issues and the use of comparative studies to substantiate the business plans proposed.
About the course
Management, Marketing and Law in Sports FGV-FIFA-CIES is a refresher course given by Fundação Getulio Vargas, composed of six modules with content supplied by CIES and contextualized into the Brazilian reality by professionals appointed by FGV. The program aims to meet the demand for continuing education of leaders, athletes, former athletes, executives, public managers, entrepreneurs and professionals in general who act in the sports area.
Brazil, represented by FGV, is the 14th partner country of the FIFA/CIES International University Network and the first to offer the course in the EAD modality.
