IBRE presents the Brazilian economic trends during workshop in China

Back to Brazil from the trip to Beijing, where its members attended the China-Brazil Workshop on Economic Climate Monitoring Study on July 11 ? organized by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBSC), official statistics bureau of that country ? IBRE's team brought experiences from the event, let alone the knowledge they provided to the Asian country. During that period, Vagner Ardeo, IBRE's vice-director and the economists Paulo Picchetti and Aloisio Campelo Jr., showed how the economic trend monitoring has been conducted in Brazil, based on the indexes calculated by IBRE, and presented economic studies on the subject.Apart from the seminar, the team ? increased by the Brazilian embassy representatives in China ? had a meeting with Zheng Jingping ? member of the Management Committee and Chief Information Officer? of NBSC ? as well as with employees pertaining to NBSC's department in charge of statistics and studies on the economic climate in China to make possible cooperation agreements between the institution and IBRE.During the seminar, Campelo showed, among other aspects, how the process of making researches being carried out on a monthly basis works. Pichetti presented cycle dating studies of the Brazilian economy. Besides the teams from IBRE and NBSC, also attending the workshop were researches from China's Central Bank, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, among others. ?Our trip was very productive. The receptiveness of the Chinese was noticeable?, says Vagner Ardeo.
