Predictive inflation models are focus of online meeting
Inflation forecasting has always been a very important subject in the Brazilian financial markets, to the point that some financial institutions have set up their own online price monitoring systems. In this context, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) is holding a free webinar on predictive inflation models. This public event will take place on February 28, at 6 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel.
The event’s purpose is to discuss the main characteristics of predictive inflation models and how the arrival of machine learning techniques is changing this field.
The speakers will be Marcelo Cunha Medeiros, professor of economics and holder of the Jorge Paulo Lemann Chair at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and Claudia Bruschi, an economist at Itaú BBA. The moderator will be Marcelo Fernandes, the coordinator of FGV EESP’s Professional Master’s in Finance and Economics.
