Retrospective 2019: FGV has the largest LinkedIn following among educational institutions
Fundação Getulio Vargas has the highest number of LinkedIn followers among educational institutions worldwide. With more than 960,000 followers, FGV ranks ahead of 90,000 other universities around the world, including giants like Harvard and MIT. The official announcement was made by LinkedIn itself, which connects professionals from around the world, on February 11.
“We’re very proud to have a team of such dedicated professionals in this institution that is a reference not only in Brazil, but around the world. LinkedIn is a very important platform for FGV. It allows us to connect not only with our current, past and future students, but also with the opinion-forming society in general”, said FGV’s Director of Marketing and Communication, Marcos Facó.
The massive following is the result of the institution’s hard work in combining the knowledge produced at the Schools and Units with an engaging and simple language. Whether in texts, videos or images, the end result is relevant content that promotes qualified debate and brings audiences closer to some of the top professors and researchers in the country.
With more than 500 million users worldwide – 31 million of them in Brazil alone –, LinkedIn is considered one of the best tools for professionals to network, seek out new job opportunities, and especially to stay up to date on what’s going on in their respective areas. Therefore, FGV’s positioning ahead of this platform reaffirms the institution’s stature as one of the main benchmarks in education not just in Brazil, but around the entire world.
