Study on global evolution of mutual fund governance wins ANBIMA Award
Rafael Vieira de Andrade de Sá, a doctoral student at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo Law School, is one of the winners of the 19th edition of the ANBIMA Capital Markets Awards. Advised by Professor Mariana Pargendler, he won the prize in the doctoral category with his dissertation “From Protecting Investors to Protecting Society: The Global Evolution of Mutual Fund Governance.”
This is the second time that Andrade de Sá has won an ANBIMA Award. In addition to the two awards won by Andrade de Sá, two other academic master’s students at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School have won ANBIMA awards. In the 17th edition, in 2020, student Daniel Favoretto Rocha won in the master’s category with his study “Legal Regimes for Protecting Investors Regarding Investment Advice: Empirical and Regulatory Analysis of the Hiring and Remuneration of Independent Investment Agents,” produced under the guidance of professors Viviane Muller Prado and Caio Mário da Silva Pereira Neto. In 2022, student Yasmin Fernandes Reis won a prize thanks to her paper “Liquidity in the Secondary Stock Market in Brazil and the Role of Regulation,” produced under the guidance of Professor Viviane Muller Prado.
