Yellow September: FGV participates in global campaign to promote life
This is the third consecutive year in which FGV has taken part in the campaign, which aims to raise public awareness about the importance of suicide prevention

On September 10, Fundação Getulio Vargas, through its Teaching Support Center (NAP), will hold an event called Yellow September – for the appreciation of life. This is the third consecutive year in which FGV has taken part in the campaign, which aims to raise public awareness about the importance of suicide prevention. The activities will start at 2 pm at the FGV Cultural Center, at Praia de Botafogo, 186, in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.
“Throughout the year, we bring in experts to discuss subjects in order to improve our students’ mental health. We will seek to open up this initiative to the public in September, especially through our event on September 10, the World Health Organization’s World Suicide Prevention Day. It is essential to expand knowledge of ways to tackle anxiety, depression and everyday stress, thereby reframing life. These triggers can be dealt with before they become overwhelming,” says NAP’s coordinator, Helena Giolito.
With this goal in mind, NAP will hold two talks at the FGV Cultural Center: “Take care of your emotions and you’ll care take of your life: the art of living well,” with Anna Oliver, of Instituto ValoraVita; and “Anxiety versus enthusiasm: practical techniques to improve your quality of life,” with Marcela Lobo and Francisco Ottoni, of Arte de Viver.
These talks seek to promote reflection on the topic through a multiple approach, addressing aspects such as social and emotional issues, risk factors, and health and well-being.
