Event presents teaching innovation initiatives
Meeting in Rio de Janeiro featured several thematic panels over the course of the day, bringing together professors, coordinators and directors.
On October 30, the FGV Educational Innovation Hub held the Second Teaching Innovation Seminar in FGV’s main building in Rio de Janeiro. The main aim of the meeting was to provide collaborative spaces for professors, coordinators and directors, focused on reflecting on teaching and sharing educational innovation initiatives.
The main topics discussed included the commitment to teaching innovation, contemporary challenges in higher education, such as student engagement in the “attention economy,” the integration of theory and practice, the mental health of the academic community and the current focus on skills-based learning.
During the seminar, a study on the impact of generative AI on higher education was presented, aimed at promoting reflection on educational issues and best practices for the use of AI in the teaching-learning process. Clio Radomysler, project leader at the Center for Education and Research in Innovation (CEPI) at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School and the FGV Educational Innovation Hub, said that the event contributed to the dissemination of knowledge. “Presenting our study on generative AI at the seminar was a valuable opportunity for our research to gain greater reach and to promote active dialogue on challenges and best practices when it comes to incorporating AI into higher education,” he said.
Marina Feferbaum, coordinator of the FGV Educational Innovation Hub and CEPI, said that the FGV Educational Innovation Hub has been working hard to promote teaching innovation. “There are now more than 40 of us, representing 15 different parts of FGV, who meet every two weeks to discuss, build, share and produce materials. This reflects FGV’s commitment to leading innovation in education,” she said. “We know that educational innovation is not just a concept, but a mission that we enthusiastically embrace. We will only achieve this through the collective exchange that takes place at each of our meetings. We sought to express this in this seminar, which was carefully designed to ensure that each participant had an active role, based on their own unique experience and perspective.”
The event featured several thematic panels over the course of the day, strengthening FGV as a leader in educational innovation and promoting an environment of collaborative development and sustainable practices in academic training.
