As the Brazilian G20 presidency came to an end, so too did FGV’s G20 Student Volunteering Program. This initiative, organized by FGV’s International Affairs Division in collaboration with Brazil’s Foreign Ministry, provided 226 students from FGV’s schools in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Brasilia with the opportunity to play key roles in supporting the logistics and organization of the G20 leaders’ summit in Rio de Janeiro on November 18 and 19.

Over the course of two months, the volunteers dedicated themselves to an extensive program of training and lectures focused on the G20 and Brazilian diplomacy, guaranteeing the necessary preparation for the roles they would play. In the days leading up to the summit, the agenda intensified, allowing the students to work directly with diplomats responsible for different sectors and to gain practical experience of the challenges involved in organizing a diplomatic event of such importance.

The program fulfilled its objective of offering FGV students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the diplomatic environment, revealing behind-the-scenes details of how a major international event is organized while promoting the development of professional skills and a broader vision of Brazil’s position in the world.

To mark the end of the program, the students will receive certificates of participation signed by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry and FGV in recognition of their efforts and dedication.
